Breaking Through the Noise

Someone or something is always competing for our ear -- our attention.  All that "noise" around us and inside our head blocks our hearing what God is trying to say to us through His Holy Spirit.  And if you're like me, the noise that is greatest is of our own making.  It's our anxious thoughts, our affinity for worrying, our inability to stay in the moment.  How do we tune it out?  Ask God to quiet your heart and your mind while considering these words spoken by Jacob:

"Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it."  And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place.  This is none other than the house of God and the gate of Heaven."          --Genesis 28:16,17

We can get on the same frequency as God when we realize how very close the gate of Heaven is to us.  But it's not a "place"  -- it is a state of mind; a conscious effort on our part to stay connected to Him.  Let's break through the noise, realizing how very different our days will be when we are "in tune" with our Great God and Guide.  You will be amazed at how much you have been missing.
